Frequently Asked Questions
Is MAT just replacing one drug with another?
No. This is a common misconception. MAT medications are prescribed at therapeutic doses under medical supervision to treat a medical condition — just like insulin treats diabetes. They do not produce the euphoric high associated with drug misuse.
Will I be on MAT forever?
Not necessarily. MAT duration is individualized. Some clients use medications short-term during detox and early recovery; others benefit from longer-term maintenance. Your physician will work with you to develop the right plan.
Does insurance cover MAT?
Most major insurance plans cover MAT medications and associated services. Our admissions team will verify your benefits before you arrive.
